Oregon State Fair

This was Adelaide's first time at the fair. There were a lot of 'firsts' today. It was just she and I together. I had hoped that someone else would come too, but in the end it always seems to be more fun when it's just us. I splurged a little bit, let her do things that I didn't think I'd let her do (like go on her first carnival ride), but it was so much fun and she was so happy all day long. We spent a lot of time with the animals, but I didn't get pictures of that part. She got to hear a giant cow moooo right in her face, watch a sheep get a bath and then pee all over the place, watch baby pigs nurse from their mama, and many more exciting animal things. We will start at the beginning...
Her first braid. She kept it in her hair all day and was so cute!

She wanted to pick out her clothes, so I let her! It was a hot day, but she really wanted her sunhat, scarf AND gloves...okay girl, it's YOUR day!

She LOVES animals in costumes. It was her favorite part of the whole day. We actually had to go see them twice because she kept wanting to give this beaver another hug! I can NOT WAIT to take her to Disneyland!

Her first face painting. I tried to talk her out of the poinsettia that she picked out...but she REALLY wanted it. She also wanted to paint it on her face herself..so the lady gave her a brush and helped her do it.

She even got sparkles on her flower

Next she got her first ever snow cone...which melted all down her shirt, all over her face, hands etc. It was a blue, sticky mess, but she didn't mind at all. Bring on the sugar!!!

She really wanted to go on this motorcycle ride. By this time in the day we were on our way out, spent all of our money, and ready to go home. But she was so excited when she saw it, so I had to go find the ATM, buy enough tickets for one ride, and thankfully she was JUST at the line to be tall enough to get on. There were a few different buckles holding her on, so I let her do it. I was so scared the entire time. I thought for sure she was afraid and wanted him to turn it off, or was going to fall off and get hurt or worse...but she held on with all of her might and had the best time ever. She was so excited when she was done and said she wasn't afraid AT ALL. I'm glad I was there to see her face and know how much it meant to her.

Goodbye Smokey. She would not let go of him!
