Look at those curles!!

Trask Creek ~ Summer Vacay

We had the best weekend of the summer with our friends in the mountains. Our friend Frances set the whole thing up for the second year in a row. We had friends come up from San Diego, and we all stayed at a cabin that was right next to a beautiful river. Adelaide really grew up this weekend. Our friend brought her daughter Nova who is 5. She and Adelaide were inseparable all weekend. Adelaide seemed like a real kid. She was always running off to play with Nova, wanting to watch movies with her, or have her carry her all around the house. I really didn't get many pictures of the beautiful house or river, but pleanty of the girls.

Adelaide's feet are off the ground.

Two rivers meet right at the house, so there is a river on two sides. This is a view from the front deck.

Downtown with Hazel

Hazel and her mama invited us to take the MAX downtown with them to play in the fountain. Unfortunately it was really cold that morning, but we had fun anyway. It was such an adventure on the train, and Adelaide really loves walking around downtown and seeing all of the action! It was also nice to spend some time with Hazel because we hadn't seen her all summer.

Sorry that all of these pictures are blurry....I'm not sure why but wanted to remember the day so am putting them up anyway =)
Adelaide splashing around

Hazel doesn't mind the cold water one bit!

On the MAX. Adelaide was in the sideways seat for a little while, but moved over next to me because she wasn't able to figure out how to balance when the train would start or stop, and kept bumping her head on the wall next to her.

My family came to town

My sister came to visit from Florida so that she could be here when we got our ultrasound of the baby. It was so special to have her here for that. We knew that we were going to find out the gender this time around so I thought it would be extra special to have Jessie there when we found out. Because she was in town, my dad wanted to come up and see her, and then my cousin Justin wanted to jump in the truck with my dad so that he could see all of us too. It was such a special time to have all of us together. Adelaide really loves having her family around. Even when she doesn't get to see them often, she really remembers everyone and somehow just knows that they are her family. I wish we all lived closer. It was hard to say goodbye to them all when it was time for everyone to leave.
My dad made Adelaide her own little kitchen. Here is everybody getting ready to watch him put it together.

What a beautiful little kitchen!! Just right for Adelaide's size. She really loves it!

We took Justin out to dinner to celebrate his 24th birthday, and also to celebrate our healthy baby! We went to Adelaide's favorite restaurant with the accordion player. She was singing Edelweiss.

I remember when Justin was a baby and I would feed him a bottle and play with him. I can't believe he is so grown up already. Also there is my beautiful sister on the right - she is getting old herself!

A date with daddy

Myles and Adelaide went on an adventure together up to Trillium Lake on Mt. Hood. I was so jealous when I saw the photos. It looks so beautiful there, I'm sure you'll agree! I can't wait to go there with them and jump in the lake myself!

Happy Apple

This is a poem from Adelaide's book of Irish Rhymes for Children.

If I were an apple, and grew on a tree
I think I'd fall down on a nice boy like me.
I wouldn't stay there, giving nobody joy.
I'd fall down at once and say....EAT ME MY BOY!
