Adelaide is sick =(

Our sweet girl has her first stomach virus. Tonight is the 6th night in a row that she has thrown up. It's so sad. She wakes up each morning thirsty and hungry, and a little grumpy. She is able to keep food down in the daytime, and wants to drink water, juice and tea, but when it comes time to lay down at night, it all comes back up again. We talked to the Dr. today who said I was the 4th one this morning to call with the exact symptoms. She has no fever, she is using the toilet as usual, and seems to be her happy self all day (except she takes a nap which is NOT like her!). Every night I hope that she won't throw up, and tonight she already has. Once her stomach is empty she sleeps through the night.

It's stressful and so sad to see your little one throw up when you know it's the worst feeling ever. She doesn't understand why she is sick or what is happening and that is sad. Poor little Punkie...get better really soon!

Grandpa Don

Myles dad came to visit us. Unfortunately Adelaide was sick the whole time he was here, but we all still got to spend a lot of good time together. We didn't really get to take many pictures, but here is one of he and Adelaide putting her pooh puzzle together. It was nice to relax around the house and catch up!

I'm growing too

Today I had a few appointments with magical women. They are helping me to grow, to get stronger in my body, to know myself better, to become a better wife, to become a better mother, to become a better doula. I can feel a shift in my spirit. I can tell that I am a lot more grounded then I was a week ago. I can tell that this next birth is going to be BIG...and I am going to survive it, and maybe even come out stronger! I'm healing and dealing with my life. Things are not always easy, and I think they really are never easy, but I'm facing life head on. I've got a team behind me now and I'm ready to open and grow and become the woman, the mother, the wife, the sister, the daughter that I always knew I could be. I can't wait to see who that is. Because that person is in here somewhere, and always has been. I just need to find her.

Almost 26 weeks along ~ Pregnancy update

How far along? 25 weeks 4 days
Total weight gain/loss? 11 lbs

Maternity clothes? Normal pants don't fit me so YES with pants, but I still squeeze into some of my skirts and shirts
Stretch marks? Not so far (crossing my fingers!)
Sleep? Pretty good. I sleep with a body pillow between my legs, and a bopy pillow under my head. I take Cal/Mag each night before I got to bed and I think it really helps. I have to get up to pee about twice a night.
Best moment last week? Anytime Adelaide talks about her 'baby sister' or 'the baby in mama's belly' when she is refering to our family. She actually talks about her and asks about her a lot!
Movement? She kicks and moves around anytime I lay down. I've also started noticing hic-ups almost every evening!
Food cravings? Just started eating lots of stewed meats and root veggies. Always craving chocolate, sugar and sweets. Ice cream and milk too.
Gender? A sweet baby sister
Belly button in/out? Just about out...
What I miss: Close friends and family SO MUCH! I also miss not being on a rollacoaster of emotions.
What I am looking forward to: Connecting to amazing women in my comunity (New midwife appointment tomorrow!) and learning more about who I really am as a mama and a person.

Trillium Lake ~ It's beautiful!

Yesterday was the first day of Fall, and according to our weather report there is rain on the way. I have a feeling it will be a long 10 months of rain on the way, so we went up to the Lake to enjoy our last warm, sunny day. It was perfect! The water wasn't too cold, and the lake wasn't too crowded. Next summer I hope we can take our canoe up there because it's the perfect lake for that!

Adelaide and Jacory

With these two....it's ALWAYS a dance party!

This video is kind of long, but it's worth the wait because Adelaide busts out some AMAZING dance moves near the end =)

Jacory was taking a nap and Adelaide said she wanted to take a nap with him....she was just kidding of course, SHE doesn't take naps anymore!

Oregon State Fair

This was Adelaide's first time at the fair. There were a lot of 'firsts' today. It was just she and I together. I had hoped that someone else would come too, but in the end it always seems to be more fun when it's just us. I splurged a little bit, let her do things that I didn't think I'd let her do (like go on her first carnival ride), but it was so much fun and she was so happy all day long. We spent a lot of time with the animals, but I didn't get pictures of that part. She got to hear a giant cow moooo right in her face, watch a sheep get a bath and then pee all over the place, watch baby pigs nurse from their mama, and many more exciting animal things. We will start at the beginning...
Her first braid. She kept it in her hair all day and was so cute!

She wanted to pick out her clothes, so I let her! It was a hot day, but she really wanted her sunhat, scarf AND gloves...okay girl, it's YOUR day!

She LOVES animals in costumes. It was her favorite part of the whole day. We actually had to go see them twice because she kept wanting to give this beaver another hug! I can NOT WAIT to take her to Disneyland!

Her first face painting. I tried to talk her out of the poinsettia that she picked out...but she REALLY wanted it. She also wanted to paint it on her face herself..so the lady gave her a brush and helped her do it.

She even got sparkles on her flower

Next she got her first ever snow cone...which melted all down her shirt, all over her face, hands etc. It was a blue, sticky mess, but she didn't mind at all. Bring on the sugar!!!

She really wanted to go on this motorcycle ride. By this time in the day we were on our way out, spent all of our money, and ready to go home. But she was so excited when she saw it, so I had to go find the ATM, buy enough tickets for one ride, and thankfully she was JUST at the line to be tall enough to get on. There were a few different buckles holding her on, so I let her do it. I was so scared the entire time. I thought for sure she was afraid and wanted him to turn it off, or was going to fall off and get hurt or worse...but she held on with all of her might and had the best time ever. She was so excited when she was done and said she wasn't afraid AT ALL. I'm glad I was there to see her face and know how much it meant to her.

Goodbye Smokey. She would not let go of him!

Growing up too fast!

Within the last few weeks Adelaide has:

1. Learned how to go up and down our deadly stairs to our bedroom. She knows that its only okay if we are with her, and she is doing a really good job at it!
2. Stopped using her pacifier to go to sleep. We are still working on this one and she struggles for a while before she can sleep. The first night was so hard....she was asking me "mama what am I supposed to do with my mouth?' and she asked me to put my finger over her lips and nose while she tried to sleep. It was heartbreaking...but she finally was able to sleep.
3. We stopped putting diapers on her to go to sleep. Her diapers have been dry for months now, but every now and then we get a wet one. We just tell her that she won't have a diaper on, so not to pee in her pants, and also have her pee before we go to bed to be sure she has an empty bladder for the night. So far, so good!
4. Today she figured out how to peddle her tricycle. She is growing up so fast right in front of us. She's been using complete sentences for months now, and even uses words like "actually" correctly. People comment often on her communication skills and we are so proud of her.

I hope we aren't pushing her to grow up too fast. Now that the baby is on the way I feel like there are certain things that she should be able to do. Next up, buckling her car seat!

Tea Party with Tigger

Granny got Adelaide a Tigger (she LOVES) and Judy gave Adelaide the cutest little TINY tea set ever. Here they are having a tea party!

Drumroll Please!

We are so happy and excited and delighted to announce that we will be having another GIRL!!! I really knew there was a sweet girl inside...and I was right! I can't wait to pull out all of Adelaide's old clothes and see them again. The ultrasound shows an adorable little scoop nose, just like Adelaide has. Myles and I can't wait to see what she looks like, if she has hair, if she's as chubby....I think we have really bonded a lot better knowing that it's a precious little sister. Growing up with my little sister makes me so happy to know that Adelaide will get to have the same thing!
