St. Paddy's at the Kennedy School

It was a really fun day hanging out with Cat, Luna and Ezra. The highlight however was Adelaide's balloon hat!

What we like right now

Mama - I am REALLY into cooking right now. I finally got the cookbook called Nourishing Traditions, and I've been learning so much about how to nourish my family and make yummy and healthy food. I've made my own yogurt, and out of that Whey and delicious Cream Cheese. I've also made lots of lentil, black eyed beans with Chard and other grains and bean dishes. It's fun and amazing.

Adelaide - she LOVES to cut paper. She just got her own pair of "kid scissors" and all she wants to do is cut and paste. I'm excited that she gets to learn all of these things before she goes to school. I just have to be very careful now, and hope she doesn't cut things she isn't supposed to.

Emmylou - she has been really focusing on getting her hands to move where she wants them to, like into her mouth. She still will not take a pacifier, but loves to suck on her fingers and thumbs. I have a feeling she is going to be right handed, but we will see. Maybe we will end up with two lefties!!!

Two big kids in a tiny sand box

Ballerina with Tap shoes

The guy at the Parks Dist. gave me his email and said if I send a picture of Adelaide going to her dance class to him they will put it in the catalogue next time.....so which one should I send him?

Adelaide would NOT make a normal face no matter how hard I begged

This was the picture I was taking when the guy walked by and saw her...I wonder if he thinks this is her normal face? I should have them use this one just get her back for making such a face in the first place! Ha!

2 months old

Our sweet baby is already 2 months old! Time is going much much too fast. Really...how do I save these days in my memory forever?

Emmylou is smiling a lot. I am ready for her to start laughing at Adelaide anyday now. Her eyes light up with the biggest smile sometimes and I'm just sure a laugh will come out...but not yet.

She is just growing out of her 0-3month size. These pictures are my FAVORITE outfit of Adelaide's. The first 3-6 mo size...still a little big, but comfy with her cloth diapers on. She is ready for size 2 disposible diapers now, and could probably almost fit into the bigger size cloth soon. We are using the small size covers.

She will sit in her chair and reach for a toy if it's hanging in front of her....or at least try to reach for it. She stares at the toy and you can tell she is trying hard to get her hand to reach for it.

She sleeps so well. We go to sleep by 10 or 11 at night, and she usually only wakes up once to nurse, sometimes I think she sleeps all night until 5 or 6! I'm never sure if I wake to nurse her or not, because she is in bed with me and it's so easy to nurse her and get right back to sleep. She is also doing a great job on the potty. There have been 2 mornings where I woke up to a clean, dry diaper, and then put her on the toilet where she lets it all loose. She is potty trained! Is that crazy?

I love her so much. She is the sweetest baby ever. She is usually really happy, unless we set her down. She takes several naps a day. Honestly I haven't even paid attention to how many or how long, but it's usually hard for her to sleep because "someone" is singing, yelling or talking REALLY LOUD. I'm so glad that she is part of our family. Adelaide is so sweet with her as well. She spends lots of time talking to her and trying to teach her things. I can't wait to watch them grow up together.

Happy Birthday Morgan!

Adelaide drew Morgan and her mama Molly on the card. I think it looks so good!!! She also signed all of our names in Orange at the bottom left. Such a great artist already!

Tap Dance class

Adelaide was VERY excited to try a tap dancing class. She really liked the sound that the shoes make, so we decided to try it. It was lot's of fun taking her up to the dance studio to pick out a pair of tap shoes in her size. She gets to wear them in the bathroom to practice,  but not on the hard wood floors.

Adelaide even picked out her clothes to wear to her first class, and let me braid her hair for the first time ever!

The first tap class was VERY full of kids and adults. It was LOUD! Too loud for me, too loud for Emmylou and TOO LOUD for Adelaide. We decided to switch back to the creative dance class that she likes much better.

This video melts my heart. What a sweet, happy girl we have. She is already trying to talk...it's never going to be quiet in this house again between the two of them!

Alma Babies

This is the board at the front door of the Birth Center. They put up all of the babies that are born with their midwives each month. Can you find Emmylou's name?

I think it's fun to see what kinds of names people are using these days. Also fun to see if we can meet some of these friends through the years! And emmylou needed a snack while we were there. Eventhough I don't work there anymore...I miss it and miss our friend Cat who we got to hang out with too.
