8 weeks

We just got this cute new diaper cover. All of our other ones are solid, and most of them plain white. I think the flower ones will be cute once it gets warmer and she is running around without clothes on =)

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf?

Today Adeliades favorite song is "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf". I started singing it to her a few days ago and she really likes it. She will stop what she is doing and smile and listen when I sing it. I have no idea where I remembered the song from. Tonight I found it online and played it for her. She really loves it.

Hands up

We had an ultrasound done when Adelaide was 18 weeks along in my belly. That means only 18 weeks from her conception...such a very young age! The one thing I remember best was that her hands were covering her face and the lady was having a really hard time trying to get her to move them so she could see her face. We didn't know if she was sucking her thumb, but it looked like little fists held up to cover her face. When she is really tired and nursing she always puts her little hands up right next to her face. It's really precious to me because it's something that I know she has always done. Now that she is getting older she is starting to keep her hands open a little bit more often, but sometimes I will look down and see those little fists.

Birth class buddies

Today we went to meet with two of the girls from our birth class. It was really fun to see them again, and of course to meet the babies!! I had so much fun hearing about their births and the last two months of parenthood. Both little boys are about a week older then Adelaide, but she is about two pounds heavier than both of them! I'm not sure why she is so big? Must be somethin in the milk =)

7 Week check up

Today Adelaide had her check up. I was dying to now how much she had grown. I can tell she is heavier. Catherine says she isn't in her "newborn" stage anymore. Now we will have more check-up's at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. I think I'm going to get a scale so I can keep track of her! Here are her current stats:

Weight - 12 pounds 7 oz
Height - 23 inches
Head circumference - 37 cm

Both of her PKU tests came back normal, and everything looks good. She is a very healthy girl!

For Leah

Sorry Leah, we will get a better one. She loves this hat that you sent to her, but wasn't much in the mood for pictures.

First Stroller Walk

Today we took a walk with the stroller for the first time. I really think taking her in one of the slings is better, but we spent so much money on our stroller, we figured we might as well give it a try. It was nice to get out after being snowed in for so long. As we were walking it started to hale. It's great because the stroller has a little cover on it to keep her dry. Adelaide slept the whole time, so she didn't even know we were gone. Myles and I had fun though =) I need the exercise, it felt really good. She is wearing the hat that Leslie got her for Christmas.

Maya Wrap

Here is the other wrap that I have to carry Adelaide in. It's the Moby wrap. It's great for quick trips to the store etc. I do have to use one had to support her when she's in here, but it's really quick to put on and put her in. I'm still learning how to use it correctly, but here I was fresh out of the shower and needed a way to hold her and still get ready. I think she likes it though, even though she doesn't look very comfortable. I think this one will be a lot better when she gets bigger too!

I kinda felt like a cow

Its a new year, so I'm gonna try new things. Today I decided to try out the breast pump. We figured it would be good to store up some milk in the freezer in case Myles ever needed it. I'm hoping to go back to yoga soon and it might really help him to have it just in case. Plus he might have fun feeding her. I decided to try it out this morning, because it seems like I have more milk in the mornings. I have a manual pump that Aunt Lisa got for me. I wanted the manual one because I knew I wouldn't be pumping a lot, so no need to get an electric one.

I successfully pumped about 4 and a half ounces today. It freakin hurt, and was also weird to see how it all works, as the pump is clear. It kinda made me feel like a cow. I know that's bad to say but I can't help it. I much prefer to have her nurse than the pump, and hopefully will fill up the bottles that we have to freeze and be done with that for a long time!

Moby Wrap

Some days I work so hard to be sure Adelaide is comfortable, and then once she falls asleep I try to lay her down so I can do something (like make something to eat, laundry, the normal things that I used to do with no problems). As soon as I set her down she usually wakes right up and looks at me with those little eyes to tell me she wants me to hold her. I have been practicing wearing her her in the wrap around the house. Usually she loves it and will fall asleep soon after I put her in there. My next goal is to figure out how to feed her when she is in there. I also have the maya wrap that i use when we go out. Here is us today in the moby =)

More Snow

It snowed more last night, and another snow storm is on the way. Here are some more pictures I took today. They say it's the biggest storm since 1980. So far our toilet pipe has frozen, our washing machine froze, and our diaper service people aren't doing deliveries so we are in need of diapers. The mail is on hiatus as well. I think Myles is getting cabin feaver. I'm cozied up with the baby so I'm not minding the weather one bit =)
