Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful feast with my dad, sister, and our good friends Ezra and Frances. Unfortunately I didn't get any very good pictures of everyone together - but I DID get some good ones of Myles preparing the Turkey! It's so special to have my sister and dad both here with us, I love these holidays!
Here is the great Turkey chef-

Never mind the steam from our humidifier =) Group shot!

Blog updates

I finally caught up with all of the posts on this blog! Please be sure to look at "older posts" once you get to the bottom of this page, as I put up a LOT of stuff and so it's not all showing up on the first page. I'm hoping I can keep up a bit better now - I will do my best! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I can't wait to relax around the house and eat all day. My dad and sister both made the long journey to be here with us, and our friends are coming over too so it's bound to be a memorable day. I love this time of year and wish we got to do this more. It's so fun to watch Adelaide interact with the ones I love most. I wonder what she thinks about all of this recent action?!

We love the Holley's

Our really good friends are in town for Thanksgiving so we got together with them for an early dinner tonight. They have an amazing little boy who I just love to pieces. I wish they lived here so we could hang out all of the time. It's not often that you get to have friends like these. It's really hard to get good pictures of two wiggly kids...but here are the best ones =)

Naps

For the past two days Adelaide has only taken ONE thirty minute nap. Usually she takes at least three. Today I laid her down almost TWO HOURS ago and she is still asleep!!! What is going on? I guess she is using today to catch up on the last two days. I have no idea what to expect anymore =) I bet she will wake up happy!

One year old today!

Today is Adelaide's birthday! Her party isn't until Saturday, but we still wanted to celebrate with her. It was a fun birthday. She had gifts to open from her grandparents and her aunt Jessie. She is good at opening them! Myles and I took her to the ice skating rink to watch the kids Ice Skate. I think this makes her so happy and is one of her favorite things to do. I know she will be out there skating herself once she figures out how to walk =) After dinner we sang to her and gave her her first cupcake ever. She seemed to like it and have fun, although she really didn't like the hat much. Here are some pictures of her from her very first birthday.

Reliving labor

Today is a very special day. It was one year ago today that I was in labor with Adelaide. I didn't expect today to be as emotional as it is. Every time I look at the clock I go back one year and remember what was happening at the same time. I have so much to be greatful for, so much to celebrate. It's been the best year of my life, I am so happy and in love with my family. It seems like the year has gone so fast, yet when I look back I can't beleive all that has happened, or how much Adelaide has changed since that very first moment I saw her. Here is a link to her birth story if you haven't read it yet. It's a long story, but my favorite.

Tonight I went to yoga and my intention there was to let go of any of the pain or bad feelings I had been holding onto about the whole ordeal. I cried like I have so many times before, and as I did I told myself that this was the LAST time I will cry for that day unless they are happy tears. The birth was so beautiful and amazing, and that is how I'm going to always remember it!

Barrett

Myles mom got Adelaide the cutest little clip for her hair. I have been waiting and waiting for her hair to be long enough to wear it. Today we tried it out - I think it's pretty darn cute!
