Another zoo trip!

Adelaide and I were supposed to meet some friends at the zoo, but they weren't able to make it. It ended up being a really fun day with just the two of us. I love the days where we get to go do something so fun together and have no distractions.

First ice cream cone ever!! We shared it - it was sooooo good!

She was very brave and went through the dinosaur exibit!! It was very fun and she really loves dinosaures now!

She got her own little dinosaurs to take home

Peeking in the little window

Her favorite are the Polar Bears...even when they are asleep

Fallon and Adelaide

Adelaides friend Fallon took her to a really fun place called The Enchanted Playground. They had a bounce house (which may not have been the best idea for a prego mama!!) and tons of little bikes and toys to play with. She had a blast. These girls really get along so perfectly!!

Here they are sharing a snack and some juice!

July was a fun month

This July really didn't seem like summer yet. It was cold and rainy on many days. Mama (me) was still not feeling well because of the baby in the belly, but we tried and tried to enjoy every minute of sun that we could.

Yes we make Adelaide wear this funny outfit to the river! Look close and you will see a deer in the bushes!!
 Digging in the sand

Frances and Ezra had a fun Barbeque for the 4th of July!

We were going to camp out in the front yard, it was fun for a few minutes and then Adelaide wanted to come inside and sleep in her own bed. Can't blame her because there were fireworks going off all over the place and it felt like a warzone!

Adelaide dressed up like Burt from Mary Poppins. She loves Burt!!

Our really good friend Rhonan and his mama and brother came up to see us!! Adelaide had lots of fun with him!

Daddy feet

Our garden is finally starting to grow!!! FINALLY!!

I'm still a photographer

Look at these shots I took of my beautiful friend a few weeks ago. She looked so good pregnant! Newborn shots yet to come.

Water Slide

14 Weeks with baby #2

My belly already feels so much bigger than it was the first time. They say you pop out faster the second time around, and I guess it must be true. My clothes are already not fitting me anymore. I am feeling much better than I was a few weeks ago, but still vomiting upon waking, and nauseous throughout the day. The biggest difference I have noticed this time is that I feel so tired all of the time. Yesterday I took a 3 hour power nap when Myles got home from work. It felt so needed and so good. Maybe my body is better at making the baby while I sleep? Either way, I hope there is only one little baby in there and I hope I don't grow too fast. I weighed myself a few days ago and I was up to 149 lbs. I started at 146, but went down to 142 because I was sick and not able to eat much. It's good to see I'm finally gaining like I should be.

Adelaide and Phoenix

We have been spending more time with one of our best friends here in town. Phoenix and Adelaide are only about a week or two apart in age, and have lots of fun together. He is such a sweet and adorable kid. I love to watch their friendship growing.

The zoo

Adelaide and I had such a good day at the park together. We were supposed to meet friends, but it ended up just being the two of us. That was actually nice because we got to do whatever we wanted to. There are some dinosaurs at the zoo right now and Adelaide really loved them. I'm pretty sure she thinks they are real, just like the rest of the animals there. She was not at all afraid of them though.
See the big dinosaur behind her!!!

Riding on the baby lion
She got to brush the goats. When we first went in there one of the goats tried to eat the flower off of her shirt. It was really funny and luckily didn't do any harm to her clothes...or to her!

And then we rode the train for the first time. It was fun, but about a 35 minute ride which was a bit long for the end of the day. She had her train hat on all day in anticipation though.

Football face

She calls this her "football face". She was also very proud of all of the stickers all over her shirt.

Fairy House

What is a fairy house? I really have no idea. The rain and cold is just getting to be too much and we needed to go outside and do SOMETHING...so we searched for supplies and made a fairy house!!!

And then after Myles came home to look at it, Adelaide kicked it all over and wrecked it! And THEN she wouldn't even pose for a photo. She is really getting her own personality lately =)

Adelaide and Fallon

Yay for friends that are little like Adelaide. We have missed Fallon and her mama so much.

Two hearts in this body of mine

Please don't mind my grossness here. I am still sick on a daily basis. I truly forgot how hard pregnancy is on me. I am always really tired, always nauseous, always on the bring of throwing up. I constantly feel thirsty, but if I drink then I get sick. Food does not appeal to me at all. I'm living off of pasta and potatoes, cheese and an occasional Luna bar. Things like showers and laundry don't even seem very important these days, and poor Adelaide is going to loose her mind if she has to spend one more day stuck in the house with me. Thank God for Myles. He takes such good care of us and helps so much. I am still often left to wonder what we are doing in this amazing city, without family and close friends to help. I'm always wishing I could call up my sister, or trusted best friend to come by and take Adelaide for a walk while I nap. Where is this community that I long for, and why haven't I been able to find it here? Maybe it's because I'm just extra sensitive right now. Maybe it's because I'm just too paranoid to trust anyone with my child.....but it's something that I am working on figuring out.

Anyway - here is the baby's first heartbeat!!! xoxoxo sounds like heaven to me =) And it also makes me realize that all of these hard days we've been having are really for such a magical and amazingly good reason!

Also notice how rad it is that I get to lay on my midwife's comfy couch and do this rather than some cold Dr's office exam table. We are planning another home birth with the same midwife. I don't think I could go through this all again without her. She is truly one of my hero's.

Adelaide and Hazel do the alphabet

Take One ~

Take Two ~

These were recorded right after Hazel's nap. Each day that she is here, Adelaide's favorite thing is to get in the playpen with her to play for a minute when she first wakes up. They jump around like little monkey's until I take them out before the knock the whole thing over! Silly girls!!

And in case you didn't notice the crazy static.....
