It's freezing
I think the high today will be 32 degrees! It's so freaking cold! The nice thing is that the sun is out and bright, so at least it still feels like fall. It's just hard to go out and do anything when it's so cold! We are all drying out from the heater too so bring on the lotion!!!

Spoons
I gave Adelaide a spoon with some banana on it today so she could practice with a spoon. I can't believe what she did with it! This is her very first time even trying! She's got some serious coordination!

Snuggle Buggy
Adelaide has gotten really good at giving hugs and wrapping her little arms around my neck and petting my hair. There is nothing sweeter then when the little person you've been holding and hugging for a year finally hugs you back! I just can't love her more. She is so funny and cute and everyday with her is so special to me!

12 month check up
We went to see Catherine today. Adelaide is now 18lbs and 9 oz, and 30 inches tall. Catherine opened the blinds to let the warm sun in while she weighed Punkie.
While we were there she noticed how busy Adelaide was exploring everything. She said I should be taking her outside to play in the dirt and nature every day. I know it's cold out now, so I will work on bundling her up and letting her out to explore. As soon as we got home that is what we did. I couldn't believe how happy she was out in the cold!

Blowing Kisses
Tonight I am standing at the changing table changing Adelaide's diaper when she starts to say and wave "Bye". I think it's because she heard Myles go into the garage. So I'm humoring her and saying 'bye daddy' back to her - and all of a sudden she puts her hand to her mouth and blows a kiss! I had been showing her this a few different times, but not for several days at least...so she must have remembered or been practicing when I wasn't watching! I just can't believe how smart she is, and of course how adorable she is. It makes me realize that we really have to be careful with everything we do and say, because even if we think she isn't paying attention - she IS! I will have to try to get video of her doing it - it will melt your heart!

My birthday ~ what a day!
I didn't really used to care much about my birthday, but since I've had Adelaide I have really changed my view on what a birthday means. What an amazing thing to celebrate, the day that you are born. What could be more important than that? Well for my birthday I wanted to go for a ride in my dad's motor home and go to my favorite park - Kelley Point. It was a beautiful day, and even though it's really cold, the sun was out and the leaves are still hanging onto the trees with all of their might. I started my day at yoga class, and then we bundled up in our warm winter wear and got moving.
Adelaide is buckled in and ready to go.

Rascal has his own seat - nice and cozy!

Buckle up Myles!

Um dad - are you sure you can drive this beast?

And then the park-

And we ended the day at our favorite Italian restaurant, where Adelaide suceeded in cracking Myles and I up drinking her water and being silly the whole time. I feel so lucky to have the people that I love with me on this day.

Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful feast with my dad, sister, and our good friends Ezra and Frances. Unfortunately I didn't get any very good pictures of everyone together - but I DID get some good ones of Myles preparing the Turkey! It's so special to have my sister and dad both here with us, I love these holidays!
Here is the great Turkey chef-

Never mind the steam from our humidifier =) Group shot!

Blog updates
I finally caught up with all of the posts on this blog! Please be sure to look at "older posts" once you get to the bottom of this page, as I put up a LOT of stuff and so it's not all showing up on the first page. I'm hoping I can keep up a bit better now - I will do my best! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I can't wait to relax around the house and eat all day. My dad and sister both made the long journey to be here with us, and our friends are coming over too so it's bound to be a memorable day. I love this time of year and wish we got to do this more. It's so fun to watch Adelaide interact with the ones I love most. I wonder what she thinks about all of this recent action?!
We love the Holley's
Our really good friends are in town for Thanksgiving so we got together with them for an early dinner tonight. They have an amazing little boy who I just love to pieces. I wish they lived here so we could hang out all of the time. It's not often that you get to have friends like these. It's really hard to get good pictures of two wiggly kids...but here are the best ones =)

Naps
For the past two days Adelaide has only taken ONE thirty minute nap. Usually she takes at least three. Today I laid her down almost TWO HOURS ago and she is still asleep!!! What is going on? I guess she is using today to catch up on the last two days. I have no idea what to expect anymore =) I bet she will wake up happy!
